SCOE School of Education and District Partnership Roles
SCOE Provides:
- Comprehensive review of Preservice applicants to ensure top-quality candidates who demonstrate readiness for an accelerated Intern program
- 120-hour Preservice
- Two-year, four semester, concurrent and contextualized teacher preparation coursework after offer of employment
- Planned, substantive, sequence of supervision
- Highly qualified, trained, Field Supervisors with appropriate credentials (including EL authorization)
- Partnership with site-level mentor to ensure cohesive approach for Intern support
- Ongoing, comprehensive assessment of Interns
- Online, and face-to-face mentoring
- Support and preparation for state assessments
- Collaborative relationship with district to support local curricular initiatives and teaching models
District Partner Provides:
- Paid, full time position as the teacher of record
- Opportunities for candidates to work or observe in placements with English learners, special needs students and diverse populations
- On-site mentor with three or more years of teaching, coaching or mentoring experience, and content area expertise
- Opportunities to observe other classrooms and teaching models
- Collaboration between the district and SCOE Intern Program (both partners are responsible for supporting the Intern)
